Hi from Kledev and CHEDEVE
Hi,
I am Roosevelt Hyppolite, a Kledev member, I am with my friend Omero Pierre-Michel, President of CHEDEVE. We would like to share with you our experience creating programs in Fontamara and will profit to thank you all for taking a moment to read this note. We also thank those who are supporting us in our program and also thank you all who will support our group in the future.
All of this started in a conversation that I had with my friends Clay Kilgore, Junior St-Vil, Vital Max-Robert. After a long and slow way, Clay invited me to write something about Haiti, I invited my best friends who were raised in my neighborhood and who also want to build a future for Haiti. It was a very nice work and I decided to keep the group alive. Since, we start creating many programs to help people face their difficulty, build a future together and create LEADERS.
The first thing we did was a seminary for young guys of our community, the subject was Grant Proporsal Writing." After we took 15 children to hospital against an epidemic. And the last one is the one which is still alive, our soccer program, with a meal after each training.
In fact after different scenes of violence between two gangs rival in our community we said why don't we create something so that in the future we don't have to face the same situation where we will loose friends and family or leave our Sweet home for another area? We worked together on it, after many meeting we said why don't we create a soccer program? Clay Kilgore who is the leader of Kledev invite us to visit Athletique d'Haiti to meet Mr. Robert Duval, who have a soccer program in Cite Soleil, it was a good idea, we receive a special seminary for our coaches, since we started with the program.
It was not too difficult to have a group, we started with 30 kids, after two weeks we were with 50. Actually, we are with 70 kids and cannot accept more kids not because we don't want to, but because we don't have big support. Feeding 70 kids is not very easy in our country where life is getting more expensive day by day, and we cannot also offer a little satisfaction to our coach because our budget is so small (every adult in this program are volunteers). All we can offer for now is a meal after the training session.
After a year of this program we would like to build a dance program also for the young little girls of our community, but still can't make this dream true. We invite you ALL who pay an attention on reading this note to put your hands together with us to save ALL those TALENTS and Create more LEADERS.
